Compression presses for rubber

The presses PHG series manufactured by Certech are studied for hard employments, where the only prerogatives are the precision and the continuous work. They are the result of more than 20 years long experience of “pressing operators”, who have made a personal pride of their experience, conceiving these machines series. They have been created to stamp rubber products and they are able to receive multiple moulds both in width and in height. The monolithic structure is composed by a high quality steel plate obtained through flame cutting and it is composed by closed rings linked by welded elements which constituted the lower floor (moulds support table) and upper floor of cylinders joints. The welding system is executed according to the Italian Institute of Welding specific regulations. The dimensional stability is guaranteed by a firing thermal treatment of stretching to which the structure is subjected before the manufacturing to the tool machines. Inside the press structure and precisely in its upper part, has been obtained the hydraulic oil tank. The upper cylinder’s chamber is connected with the oil tank by means of a prefilling valve which allows big oil inputs during the descent phase of the crossbeam and has the function of an unloading valve during the ascent phase. The hydraulic cylinders are of double effects type. The pressing cycle is hydraulically obtained and developed by a pump with variable capacity which, on request, can control at the same time also a system of extraction introduction of the moulds; this is possible because other operations are allowed when the press is in standby. The pressing phase is executed lowering the mobile crossbeam up to discharge the pressing force on the moulds; obviously the movement is controlled by sensors which indicate the slow approach up to stop the run, maintaining the pressure intensity. At the end of the pressing phase, the mobile crossbeam brings back on position of upper dead point dragging mechanically the upper mould which, in his ascent run, “opens” itself creating spaces to realize the formed material discharge and to re-charge the raw material to be formed. The working area of the machine is completely fenced using protections in electro welded net with sliding opening in the lateral zones and at clapper made in the rear part of the press. The opening of each protection is registered by a safety micro-switch which controls the immediate stop of all the dangerous movements present inside the working area. The loading and unloading area of the moulds is protected by safety photoelectric barriers.

THE PRESSES IS PROVIDED WITH:

The loading and unloading area of the moulds is protected by safety photoelectric barriers. The control keyboard is positioned on the machine’s front side, outside the fence. On request, it is possible to have the extraction system of the moulds which is composed by the following elements:

  • Mobile hydraulic platform of ascent-descent.
  • Hydraulic extractor of moulds transfer.

The platform is applied in front of the press structure and it is composed by:

  • Lifting group of the mould receipt table.
  • Shift group of mould extraction-introduction.

The platform which is situated on its lower dead point, at the lower mould level, will be raised up to the opportune height to extract the second mould. The positioning movements in height, as the mould extraction introduction movements have to be executed with manual control and the interested organs have to remain on position up to manual inversion control. The hydraulic functioning is obtained with the help of a station from the press central group. The machine power and control equipment is assembled in two electric switchboards named power switchboard and control switchboard. In the power switchboard, there is the necessary electric equipment for the start-up and the stop of the pump motor, the remote control switches, the thermal relés, the fuses and all the electro mechanic automatisms for the hydraulic station control; all the electro mechanic circuit is strictly linked to a series of consensus and inter- blocks with the control console. In the control switchboard, there are all the machine control instruments such as push buttons, selectors and an OMRON NTS5 panel which visualizes the functioning state of the machine and allows the base parameters settings.
